From Farm to Cup — The Journey of Akoya Coffee Beans

Introduction
Behind every cup of Akoya Coffee lies a journey of care, tradition, and precision. From the lush highlands of Ethiopia to your coffee cup, we ensure that each bean meets the highest standards of quality and flavor.

Sourcing the Best
At Akoya Coffee, we work directly with local farmers in Yirgacheffe, Sidamo, Guji, and Nekemte — Ethiopia’s most celebrated coffee regions. These high-altitude areas offer the perfect climate and soil conditions for growing exceptional coffee.

Harvesting and Processing
Coffee cherries are handpicked only when fully ripe, ensuring a consistent flavor. We use two main processing methods:

  • Washed (wet) processing: Creates a cleaner, brighter cup.
  • Natural (dry) processing: Enhances fruity and wine-like flavors.

Each method is selected based on the bean type and regional tradition to preserve the authentic taste of Ethiopian coffee.

Quality Control at Every Step
We implement strict quality assurance protocols — from sorting and grading beans to cupping (tasting) each batch for flavor consistency. Only the best beans make it through.

Sustainable Packaging & Export
We offer custom packaging solutions for clients, ensuring beans are preserved in peak condition during export. Our global logistics partners help deliver Akoya Coffee promptly to destinations like the UAE, South Korea, China, and Europe.
